FAQ
Electric Vehicle FAQs
Quick answers to the most common questions about TAILG electric motorcycles and scooters—battery care, charging, performance in cold weather, warranty, motors, accessories, and anti-theft features.
1. What should we pay attention to when the motorcycle is not used for a long time?
If the vehicle is not used for a long time, the battery capacity will be exhausted and the battery may not work properly.
This seriously affects battery life. It is recommended to switch off the air switch when the motorcycle is not in use,
and to check and charge the battery once a month.
2. What kind of battery does the TAILG electric vehicle use, how long does it take to charge, and how long is the battery life?
There are two kinds of batteries: lead-acid battery and lithium battery.
It usually takes 8–10 hours for a lead-acid battery to fully charge and 7–8 hours for a lithium battery to fully charge.
The cycle life of a lead-acid battery is usually 300–600 cycles, and a lithium battery is usually 500–1000 cycles.
3. When the outdoor temperature is low, does it affect the motorcycles?
When the temperature is low, the internal chemical activity of the battery will be reduced, and the corresponding capacity
will also be reduced. Therefore, the lower the temperature, the shorter the mileage. It may not even start up in some cases.
4. Is it safe to charge lithium batteries indoors?
Charging the lithium battery is prohibited. Once a lithium battery accident occurs, the consequences are unimaginable.
5. How long is the vehicle warranty period?
There are specific warranty periods for different types of products. Please refer to the warranty terms of your model.
6. What’s the difference between the center motor and the hub motor?
The center motor sets the whole vehicle’s weight in the middle, which is easier to control and balance.
The hub motor itself is lighter and is usually cheaper.
7. How do we tell the remaining power in the battery?
Normally, the remaining capacity of the battery needs to be viewed with instrument/display feedback when the riding speed is stable.
It is not accurate to follow the power feedback when starting, climbing, and other special situations.
8. What if the electric cycle runs out of power?
Ride the cycle normally if you run out of power.
9. What does a new motorcycle need to be fitted with?
The new scooter is equipped with a battery, rear reflector, license plate, rear-view mirror and other necessary accessories.
Other accessories such as rear trunk and guard bar could be installed according to your personal needs.
10. What is the anti-theft function for the vehicle, and how does one set up the anti-theft function?
Mechanical anti-theft: Turn the steering handle to the left about 45 degrees, press down the key at a closing position,
and turn it to the left to lock the steering handle. To unlock the steering handle, reverse the operation.
Remote control anti-theft: Turn on the anti-theft function on the remote control. The anti-theft function can detect whether the vehicle is moving or not. Once activated, the motorcycle will automatically be locked.
